Unmerited Favor

Friends,

My Lakers are finally playing good ball, the cold weather is shipping out, and Jesus is still Lord!! ...makes for a great Saturday!! ;)

I've been on a reading binge lately and can't help but talk about the latest book I've been reading: Unmerited Favor. WOW!!

This book gives incredible insight into God's love for us and His desire to see us conquer, live, and succeed in every area of our lives. I'll keep this post brief by simply posting a quote from the book ...powerful!

"There are many times where the lowest points in your life are actually the launching pads to God's greatest promotion in your life. It was so for Joseph! If Joseph had not been betrayed by his brothers, he would not have been sold as a slave. If he had not been sold as a slave, he would not have been in Potiphar's house. If he was not in Potiphar's house, he would not have been thrown into an Egyptian prison meant specifically for the king's prisoners. If he was not in that specific prison, he would not have interpreted the dreams of Pharaoh's officers. If he had not interpreted their dreams, he would not have been summoned to interpret Pharaoh's dream two years alter. If he had not interpreted Pharaoh's dream, Pharaoh would not have promoted Joseph to become his prime minister over the entire Egyptian empire!!"

"Your lowest points are launching pads to God's greatest promotions."

To Know Him...

'Making last minute preparations for tomorrow before heading to bed and I just can't stop thinking about the love of God ...seriously ... I don't always "feel" Him but there's something about KNOWING that He's always with me ...

As I approach my 32nd birthday, I reflect on the last 32 years of my life ...I've grown, I've struggled, I've laughed, I've cried, I've taken large steps, fear has paralyzed me, His Word has moved me ...I've gone off course ...and I've been guided back on course ...I've gained friends, I've lost some, and I've let some go ...but in the end, God has remained faithful ...

So today, I'm thankful for the journey, and the desire to KNOW HIM!! I'm thankful for a heart that seeks truth and one that desires the fullness of God's purity and love. Today, I'm overwhelmed by God's patience and LOVE for me. Thanks be unto God whose love isn't predicated on my performance ...

To KNOW Christ in the power of his resurrection and the fellowship of his sufferings means to be willing to experience weakness, to suffer loss, to be misunderstood --- but to also experience victory, peace, and the manifestation of God's power in my life --- to be willing to die on a daily basis, be willing to be used by God, willing to be persecuted, be willing to take a stance, be willing to be broken, and made conformable ...To know Him is to know PEACE, to have ASSURANCE, and to experience FREEDOM ... LIFE in Jesus ...

This is my heart's desire ...

"That I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable unto his death;" (Philippians 3:10).
